Overview

Brochure InfoChampoeg park has a year round campground, yurts, cabins and a group RV area with meeting hall. Group tent areas, historic outdoor pavilion and inside building, and picnic areas are available for the summer season May 1 through October 31. Oak Grove shelter #4 and the outdoor Pavilion area are open year round. Park has a visitor center, four miles of paved bike trails, 1.5 miles of hiking and nature trails. There is a courtesy boat and fishing dock (no launching). Champoeg has no designated swim area. Unlicensed motorized vehicles are not permitted in State Parks. Year round day use parking fee. An OPRD day use permit or annual permit must be displayed in each vehicle. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE MEETS YOUR CAMPING NEEDS Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park. Seasonal Closures for Champoeg: The A loop is closed each year from November through March 31st. Group tent camps and day use picnic areas closed November 1 through April 30. Oak Grove shelter #4 and the outdoor Pavilion area open year round.Sites in B Loop are open to reservations year round. Key InfoOnly one vehicle is included with standard camp fees. A second vehicle kept at a campsite (or alternate parking area) is subject to a nightly Extra Vehicle fee.The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is currently $7.00. If you reserve a cabin or a yurt, please look at the end of your confirmation letter for details, and instructions to obtain your key when you get to the park. Cabins and yurts are available by reservation only. Same day arrivals and first-come, first-served cannot be accommodated for these sites. Follow State Park signs 6 miles west to park entrance. From highway 99W (Newberg area), take Highway 219 south (toward St. Paul), 3 miles to Champoeg Road. Turn left on Champoeg Road and drive 3 miles east to park entrance. From airport (PDX), Airport Way, take I-205 south (Portland). Drive 25 miles south on I-205 to junction with I-5 south (Salem). Drive south on I-5, 10 miles to exit 278, (Donald/Aurora). Exit the freeway and follow the State Park signs 6 miles west to park entrance.Booking Window Product InfoFee Cancellation DescThere is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. *Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the end of the stay will only pay an $8 transaction fee. Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the beginning of the stay will pay an $8 transaction fee and the nightly rate for each night cancelled. Date changes or cancellations to reservations cannot be made until 5 months (150 days) in advance of arrival date.
