Brochure Info This is The Deschutes River Rec. Area, which is on the Columbia River, not the Deschutes campground at The Cove Palisades State Park near Madras. Welcome to Deschutes State Recreation Area. We have 32 miles of bike trails and 7.5 miles of hiking trails. All sites allow Tents or RVs (with a 24 foot combined vehicle length restriction in T-Loop). A-Loop electric sites have 50/30/20 amp connections available. Restroom building closed from from late fall to early spring. Port-a-potty available. There is no water available from from late fall to early spring. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE MEETS YOUR CAMPING NEEDS Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park. Site details and tent pad sizes can be viewed online by clicking on the site name. Key InfoOnly one vehicle is included with standard camp fees. A second vehicle kept at a campsite (or alternate parking area) is subject to a nightly Extra Vehicle fee.Maximum of 2 vehicles per campsite, including your camping unit. The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is currently $7.00. There is no water available from late fall to mid March, weather permitting. Seasonal closures: A loop is first-come, first served from November 1st- March 31st. B Loop, T Loop and the group camps are closed November 1st through March 31st. Restroom building closed late fall through mid March. Port-a-potty available. Please note: The campground is located near railroad tracks. Trains use their horn at all hours. Horses, even in a trailer, are not allowed in the overnight campground. Sherman County Fire Ban Campfires are typically banned early summer through late fall—please call the park for information. Propane and white gas are allowed. Propane, white gas and briquettes are allowed. A pass is needed to boat the Deschutes River. During summer months, motorboats are prohibited at certain times. Continue eastbound 4 miles, cross the Deschutes River Bridge. The park is the first right after the bridge. Traveling west: On I-84 travel 34 miles west of Arlington to exit 104, turn left on Hwy 97. Go 1/4 mile and turn right on Biggs Rufus Hwy. Continue westbound 4.5 miles, turn left into park before crossing the Deschutes River Bridge. Traveling south: On Highway 97 travel approx. 10 miles from Goldendale, WA. Cross the Columbia River to Biggs Junction. Turn right on Biggs Rufus Hwy. Continue westbound 4.5 mile. Turn left into park before crossing the Deschutes River Bridge. Traveling north: On Hwy. 97 from Bend travel to Biggs Junction, turn left on Biggs Rufus Hwy. Continue westbound 4.5 miles. Turn left into park before crossing the Deschutes River Bridge.Booking Window Product InfoFee Cancellation DescThere is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. *Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the end of the stay will only pay an $8 transaction fee. Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the beginning of the stay will pay an $8 transaction fee and the nightly rate for each night cancelled. Date changes or cancellations to reservations cannot be made until 5 months (150 days) in advance of arrival date.
