Brochure InfoDabney State Park is southeast of the Stark Street Bridge on the Historic Columbia River Highway (Hwy. 30). Dabney is located on the Sandy River, a popular location for fishing, swimming, and boating. Placed in a forest setting, Dabney offers a relaxing locale for a family picnic or just a quiet day in the park. Paved footpaths present visitors with easy access to nature for birding or exercise. Dabney is also home to a challenging yet popular 18 hole disc golf course. With a reservation for the picnic shelter, visitors have access to a volleyball court as well as horseshoe pit (equipment available upon request).No dogs except service animals allowed in park. There is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved.An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. Contact Rooster Rock (503-695-2261) or check the OPRD website for exact closing times during this date period. Maximum occupancy for the Shelter is 50 people. Contact park staff at Rooster Rock Park Office at (503) 695-2261, with questions. No dogs allowed (except service dogs). Alcohol use is allowed by persons 21 and over. Picnic shelter has sink, water, and electrical outlets. Due to severe winter weather, water and electricity are turned off in the picnic shelter during the winter months Parking is limited and first come first serve at this site. Please arrive early on hot summer days as park fills up fast. Call Rooster Rock State Park at (503) 695-2261 with any questions you may have. Helmets are required for riders under the age of 16. No Smoking tobacco products except in vehicles and personal camping units, in accordance with all applicable laws governing smoking in vehicles. Groups must contact the park at (503) 695-2261, 30 days prior to arrival to discuss if a PARK PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR NON-TYPICAL PICNIC-RELATED EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES Such as: *Special events involving non-traditional park activities (baptisms/weddings/car shows/other events etc) *Approval of Caterers/Vendors *use of kegs (OLCC permit required) *Set up of bouncy houses, waterslides and other inflatables *Approval of any use of Sound Systems, Bands, DJ's, or Special Entertainment. *Personal setup items such as trailer barbeques, tables, chairs, decorations. *Day use fee tally - to pay for their guests Day Use vehicle parking fee. *Driving stakes or other objects into the ground *Attaching anything to structures or any natural resources *No parking or leaving of vehicles at the shelter site* Prior to booking the picnic shelter, please read: Changing a Reservation Canceling a Reservation Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionDirections to Dabney State Recreation Area From I-84, take exit #18, head east 3.4 miles on the Historic Columbia River Highway (hwy 30). Dabney is .25 miles east of the Stark St. bridge on the right. From Portland, go east on Stark St. to the Stark St. bridge, go across and turn right onto the Historic Columbia River Highway (hwy 30), go east .25 miles. The entrance to Dabney is on the right. Reservations for more than five nights/days that are later changed to fewer nights/days by cancelling nights at the beginning of the stay will pay an $8 transaction fee and the nightly rate for each night cancelled. Date changes or cancellations to reservations cannot be made until 5 months (150 days) in advance of arrival date.
