Centrally located in the Finger Lakes Park Region, Sampson State Park slopes gently above the eastern shore of Seneca Lake. Formed over 12,000 years ago, Seneca Lake is the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes, with charted depths over 630 feet. Military roads and buildings have been replaced with grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and trees on flat, rolling woodlands, surrounding ravines. Visitors may enjoy swimming at the beach, boating or fishing. The old roads, lake trail and wooded areas offer ample opportunities for bicycling, walking, hiking, geocaching or nature watching. The park also features ball fields, tennis, horseshoe, volleyball and basketball courts, and a large modern playground. Bicycle rental and sports equipment sign out are available. A large indoor recreation hall features video games, billiards, table tennis and foosball. The newly remodeled marina has 96 boat slips, a large multiple launch site and gas pumps. Also available at the park is a restaurant/camp store; and picnic areas with grills and tables. The park's facilities are almost entirely accessible to disabled visitors. Household pets are permitted with restrictions. However, the Lodi Point State Park Open Shelter will still be available. Park Rules & Information: The park has 243 electric sites located in Loops 1-5 with both 30 and 20 amp service. These sites offer a mixture of open and shaded sites with a comfort station in each loop. Please bring a heavy extension cord. Distances between electric boxes and site pad can be as much as 50 feet. Each site has a gravel pad, fire ring, and one picnic table. Loop 5 is the closest to the lake, with prime sites that have lake views. Only one wheeled camping unit and two motor vehicles are allowed per site. Tent campers may place two tents totaling not more than 225 square feet on a site. Boats and boat trailers are not permitted on the campsite. They can be left in the Park Office Parking lot or placed in a rented slip at the Marina. QUIET HOURS: 10PM to 7AM. Only registered site occupants and vehicles are permitted in the park during this time. The park office closes at 8PM but staff is available to assist campers in getting to their site after this time. Check-In Procedure: All campers must check in at Park Office before occupying site. Please have the following information ready: site #; all license plate numbers/description of vehicles occupying site; list of everyone that will be on your site. Please be aware that there is a Dog Show at the park from September 26, 2022 to October 4, 2022, during which ALL sites will be unavailable to reserve. ATTENTION PET OWNERS: Current proof of rabies inoculation is required at check-in (metal tags will not be accepted). At any time during your stay, pet owners may be required to provide proof of rabies inoculation upon request. Be sure to have this information available to present to park staff. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft and under control at all times. Do not leave pets unattended and always clean up after them. Pet owners/permit holders are liable for any damage, personal injury, or nuisance caused by the pet. Where pets are permitted, there is a maximum limit of 2 pets per site. Pets are NOT permitted on the playground, beach area, or inside park buildings including comfort stations. Looking to reserve for just 1 night? If you make your reservation within 3 days of your arrival you can book a 1-night stay online or through the Call Center. This applies to campsites only. PRE-REGISTRATION: Have a reservation already? Don't forget to Pre-Register!! 7 days prior to your arrival you can sign into Reserve America and pre-register. IT SAVES TIME when checking in on the day of arrival. LENGTH OF STAY: A camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous nights. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 48 hours before registering again for another site.
