Brochure InfoMount Sunapee State Park is a major recreation area in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region offering year-round activities. In the winter, alpine skiing is available at Mt. Sunapee Resort, owned by the State of New Hampshire and managed by Vail Resorts Inc. The 4,085 acre lake at Mount Sunapee State Park Beach is an ideal spot for family and group outings. A boat launch is available with some restrictions. Boat rentals are available. Situated on the mountain about two miles from the beach, the campground offers lean-to and platform sites for family camping in a natural setting.Key InfoAlerts and important information All sites have either a tent platform or lean-to and are tent only. Most of the sites have a 10-50 foot walk from the campsite parking to the campsite itself. -The nightly base site fee includes 2 adults only and up to 4 dependent children under 18. The maximum capacity of the campsites at Mount Sunapee State Park varies. Call the park for more information at 603-763-5561. Additional adults beyond the 2 included in the reservation pay $10.00 each, per night. If additional adults will be camping with you on the campsite for the entirety of your stay, please indicate this on the online reservation. Each extra adult will be charged the extra adult fee of $10 per night online at the time of reservation. If additional adults will not be staying for the entirety of your reservation, please do not indicate those extra adults online. The extra adult charges for the partial stay will be calculated upon arrival at the campground. Additional children on a campsite are charged $5.00 per night. NH Senior Citizens are given a $5 per night discount and NH State Employees are given a 50% discount. The discount will be provided once verified at the campground. There is limited to no cell service at this park. Service may vary based on provider. For emergency calls, use pay phone located at the beach. There is no payphone in the campground. In the event of an emergency, call 911 for police, fire, or ambulance. PLEASE DO NOT BRING FIREWOOD WITH YOU. Firewood can carry exotic insects and tree diseases. Safe firewood is available to purchase at the campground for your convenience; firewood from within Sullivan County is also considered safe. There is a maximum of two cars per campsite. Additional cars can be parked in the lot at the campground entrance. Mount Sunapee State Park is a primitive campground with pit-toilets and water spigots. This campground does not have electricity. The road to the campground is an unpaved gravel road. Check-in at Mount Sunapee State Beach before 6 pm. If you arrive after check-in, you can set up on your site and check-in in the morning. Pets are allowed at the campground, but are NOT allowed at beach anytime, anywhere. Important Information for Daily EntranceDay Use: Visitors should make a reservation before arriving at the park as parking is limited (especially on nice weekends and holidays). However, a limited number of walk-in spaces are available and visitors who do not make a reservation will be admitted on a first come/first-serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival and no later than 5pm on the day of your visit. Beach Advisories Please be aware that beach advisories occur unexpectedly during the summer months. Prior to your stay please check for beach advisories posted by the Dept. of Environmental Services by visiting: www4.des.state.nh.us/WaterShed_BeachMaps/ Advisories are updated daily. Any cancellations or changes to a reservation need to be done through Reserve America and cancellation fees will apply. Lifeguards Lifeguards may not be on duty. Swim at your own risk. Park Information Pets are not permitted in the park. This park is carry in/carry out. <Cancellation Policy: Cancellations MUST be made prior to 9AM of the day of your visit. There will be no refunds due to weather, insects, or failure to attend the park without prior notice. Refunds requested for extenuating circumstances must be submitted to: nhstateparkscamping@dncr.nh.gov where they will be evaluated on a case by case basis. NH Senior Discount: Indicate that you are a NH senior on your order details page and you will not be charged the day-use/parking fee. However, there is a $1 transaction fee for using the online reservation system. To receive your discount at our per person fee locations, simply enter the number of qualifying NH Senior Citizens in the vehicle/occupant information section of the order details page to receive your applicable discount.DirectionFrom I-93: Take I-89 north to Exit 9 onto Route 103 follow Route 103 to Newbury, then follow signs to Mount Sunapee State Park. From I-95: Take Route 101 west to Route I-93 North towards Concord. Take I-89 north to Exit 9 onto Route 103 follow Route 103 to Newbury, and then follow signs to Mount Sunapee State Park. Directions to the campground: When you reach the traffic circle on Route 103, exit the circle towards Mount Sunapee Resort. Take the first left—marked with a small blue tent sign—into a large gravel parking lot. To reach the campground, turn right in the parking lot and follow the road, which appears on Google Maps as ‘Park Road,’ up the hill for one mile. The campground will be on your left.Booking Window Product InfoFee Cancellation DescFee Information Payment in full will be charged to your credit card upon completion of the reservation. A $6.50 non-refundable on-line reservation fee will be charged for each reservation. Payment Methods Accepted On-line: Cancellation Policy A non-refundable penalty fee of $15.00 will be charged for cancellations made less than 6 days prior to your scheduled arrival. There is no cancellation fee for cancellations made 6 days or more before your scheduled arrival.
