Brochure InfoIn the heart of Franconia Notch State Park, Lafayette Place Campground is the camping and hiking hub for the park. It provides a great base from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and many attractions in the White Mountains. Information about hiking trails, safety, and the natural and cultural history of the park is available at the cabin near the campground entrance. A lodge houses a registration desk and offers a selection of camping supplies. Each campsite is wooded and has a picnic table, car parking, and an open fireplace. There are coin-operated showers and a camp store. Lafayette Campground provides 97 wooded tent sites - 88 are by reservation only, 1 is for youth group reservations, and 7 are for first-come/first-served campers. Self-service/self-pay camping with limited staffing and facilities is available during the off-season.Key Info Pet Policy Pets are not permitted at this park. Anyone entering with a pet will be asked to leave. The nightly base site fee pays for 2 adults only and up to 4 dependent children under 18. 6 people maximum per site of which only 4 can be adults Additional adults on a site pay $10.00 each, per night. Additional children on a campsite are charged $5.00 per night. NH Senior Citizens are given a $5 per night discount and NH State Employees are given a 50% discount. The discount will be provided once verified at the campground. No more than 2 tents per site. No more than 2 vehicles per site Lafayette is open for year-round camping. Reserved camping with full staffing and facilities will be available from late-May through early-Oct. Camping with limited staffing and no facilities are available at all other times of the year. No water service after mid-October. Visitation Information There is limited to no cell service at this park. Service may vary based on provider. Please do not bring out-of-state firewood with you. Firewood can carry exotic insects and tree diseases. Safe firewood is available to purchase at the campground for your convenience. Youth Groups Youth Groups are NOT allowed on family sites. Youth Groups reservations MUST be made through Headquarters by calling 603-271-3556 Booking Rules The maximum reservation window is 11 months in advance, and sites become available at 8am (9am on weekends) exactly 11 months from the anticipated arrival day. Cancellation Policy: If you are cancelling 7 days or less from your arrival date you will be charged a $15 cancellation fee in addition to the $6.50 non-refundable reservation transaction fee charged at booking. If you do not arrive at the facility for your stay, and do not call the park to cancel by noon on the day of your reservation, no refund will be issued. A $6.50 non-refundable on-line reservation fee will be charged for each reservation. Payment Methods Accepted On-line: Cancellation Policy A non-refundable penalty fee of $15.00 will be charged for cancellations made less than 6 days prior to your scheduled arrival. There is no cancellation fee for cancellations made 6 days or more before your scheduled arrival. A $2.15 non-refundable transaction fee is charged for changes made to your dates of stay or your site. Please read the Fee and Cancellation Policy for more information
