Brochure Info Located on scenic Grenada Lake, Hugh White State Park offers the finest outdoor recreation amenities available, all nestled in a setting unmatched in natural beauty. Grenada Lake is best known as a haven for crappie fishermen, but is also well-stocked with bass, bream and catfish. Hugh White State Park is centrally located between Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi.Key InfoDue to the fact that Grenada Lake is a flood control reservoir and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on July 1 of each year the water level starts dropping in anticipation of the winter rains. On January 1 it starts a slow rise to get back to the recreation pool level. Many boat launch ramps are inoperable during this time however there are always low water ramps on the lake that are useable and available. Swimming beaches will remain open. No pets are allowed in cabins, villa, motels or any other park building. All campers need to bring at least 30 feet of extension cord for some campsites. Pets are NOT ALLOWED in or around the CABIN AREA. The ONE BEDROOM Cabins have 2 FULL SIZE BEDS. The TWO BEDROOM Cabins have 3 QUEEN SIZE BEDS.. In the event of cancellation, penalties may apply. Mississippi State Parks now utilizes a voucher system for any balance due to customers. You will not receive a refund. THE PARK OFFICE AND CABIN AREA ARE 3.5 MILES FROM HIGHWAY 8. DIRECTIONS TO HUGH WHITE STATE PARK'S OUTLET CHANNEL CAMPGROUND: FROM INTERSTATE 55: TAKE EXIT 206 ONTO HIGHWAY 8 EAST. TRAVEL APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES. AT THE LAKEWAY CHEVRON STATION TURN LEFT ONTO SCENIC LOOP 333. SCENIC LOOP 333 WILL LEAD TO THE GRENADA DAM. TURN LEFT AT DAM AND TRAVEL TO BOTTOM OF DAM.
