Brochure InfoMt. Sugarloaf offers a commanding view of the Connecticut River, the Pioneer Valley, and the Pelham and Berkshire Hills. Consisting of two peaks, North and South Sugarloaf, the Reservation offers picnicking, scenic viewing and hiking. An auto road winds to the summit, making South Sugarloaf Mountain accessible by private automobiles. Available on the summit is a pavilion for scenic viewing and picnicking. Mt. Sugarloaf, composed of a prominent sandstone rock called Sugarloaf Arkose, is a fine example of the Connecticut Valley's geological history. From its summit can be seen some of the best scenic views of the broad agricultural landscape of the Connecticut River Valley.Key Info Once you have made your reservation, please call the park to discuss your plans for the day by calling 413-665-2928. Please be advised that this facility may reach capacity early in the day. Once the parking lot is full, your guests will not be able to enter. Please plan accordingly. Alcohol is prohibited in all DCR Facilities. Please be advised, the rental of this facility is generally for a self-catered picnic or simple gathering. Should you be interested in having a caterer, amplified music, a bounce house, fundraising event, etc. you will need to secure permission via a special event permit. There is a $45 non-refundable application fee, a Certificate of Liability Insurance will be required and you will need to submit a Covid-19 Compliance Plan stating how you will meet the Governor’s guidelines. Children 16 and under must wear bicycle helmets while riding bicycles. Pets must be attended and leashed at all times; are prohibited from swimming beaches and state buildings, including restrooms. Pick up after your pet and deposit waste in trash. Please clean up the area after use. Use available trash and recycling receptacles. Do not wash dishes in bathroom sinks or at public faucets. Bring paper goods for your outing or plan to transport and wash dishes at home. Decorations may be hung with thumb tacks or tape. No duct tape, nails or staples. Remove all balloons and decorations. Pavilion reservations are rain or shine events. There are no refunds, unless cancelled with ReserveAmerica two days prior to reserved date. NO Bounce house, or tents allowed.
