Overview

Brochure InfoSituated just behind the sand dunes, the 100-site campground at Horseneck Beach State Reservation is a camping destination like no other. The cobblestone beach provides breathtaking views of Buzzards Bay, access to swimming and surfcasting and two miles of beach to explore.Brochure Info - OrientationSpread across nearly 800 acres of barrier beach and salt marsh, Horseneck Beach is one of the most popular facilities in the MA State Park system. Barrier beaches are narrow strips of beach and dunes that are slightly elevated from sea level and provide habitat for wildlife and protection to inland marshes and development.Brochure Info - RecreationLocated at the western end of Buzzards Bay, southwest-facing, 2-mile long beach is breezy all year round, providing excellent wind surfing and a dependable respite from sweltering inland temperatures in the summer. The combination of ocean beach and estuary habitat makes Horseneck one of the premier birding locations in New England. Relax on the beach, swim, build sand castles or get lost in a book. The exclusive location of Horseneck provides an excellent spot for fishing. An unstaffed barrier island, Gooseberry Neck, with walking trails, access to unguarded beach, a boat ramp and remnants of two World War II observation towers is nearby and waiting for you to explore. Horseneck Beach and Gooseberry Island are great locations for birding, biking and kayaking too!Brochure Info - Facilities and RestrictionsThe campground offers 100 brand new fully asphalted back-in campsites, a comfort station with flush toilets and hot showers, a dumping station, playground, basketball and volleyball courts, and access to a beautiful, unguarded cobblestone beach.
