The Kentucky Horse Park’s equine theme park is open for its main season April-October, Wednesday-Sunday, 9am – 5pm. Admission includes the International Museum of the Horse--a Smithsonian Affiliate--and the American Saddlebred Museum. Visit kyhorsepark.com to plan your visit!Brochure Info - RecreationDuring the Kentucky Horse Park’s Main Season, April-October, visitors can enjoy live equine presentations which include the Hall of Champions Show, Parade of Breeds, and the Big Barn Stall-Side Chat. A horse drawn trolley takes guests on a short 10-minute ride to discuss the history of the park with guests. The International Museum of the Horse, the largest of its kind in the world, and The American Saddlebred Museum are also included with admission. Children's pony rides and horseback trail rides take visitors through some of the Park’s paddocks and can be purchased with or without admission to the Park. Plan your visit at kyhorsepark.com.Brochure Info - Facilities and RestrictionsOne of Kentucky's finest resort campgrounds, the Kentucky Horse Park Campground has 260 campsites with electrical and water hookups, paved pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. A full-service facility, the campground has a grocery store and gift shop, two bathhouses with modern conveniences, laundromats, and two dump stations. Lighted tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool, and playgrounds are just a few of the recreation choices.Key InfoPlease note: The maximum reservation window is 12 months in advance to the date. New Inventory is made available when the call center opens. There is a 1 night minimum stay during the week at all parks. Customers may arrive on a Friday or Saturday and stay a minimum of two nights. The horse park campground cannot guarantee satellite reception at each campsite Customer service is authorized to fill in any empty spaces caused by the 2-night weekend stay rule. Please note the following: Longer minimum night stays are required at most campgrounds during holiday periods. Parks prohibits the importation of firewood by campers from any state outside of Kentucky. This is in an effort to help prevent the introduction of the Emerald Ash Borer into the state. Firewood is available for sale in the state park campgrounds. https://parks.ky.gov/firewood-policy Kentucky Horse Park Campground sites can be occupied by 5 occupants. Adults and children 16 and under are included in the base rate. Each additional camper is $2 per night with a maximum occupancy of 8 campers per site. Check-in time is 2:00PM. Check-out time is 12:00 Noon. Winter Season at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground: B loop and D loop will be open during the off-season (November 1 to March 31). The sites available for reservation will include B77 to B130 and D207 to D260. The sites on D loop will have electric only. The sites on B loop will have water and electric. (Water is available at dump stations if needed.) The rate for a site during the off-peak season is $30 per night, a one-time $6 transaction fee and applicable taxes. Campers can expect some delay in entering or exiting the campground from 5 pm - 11 pm every night during Southern Lights (November 18th - December 31st).
