Brochure InfoPicnicking/Shelters Rice Lake State Park is 15 acres and a beautiful area for having a picnic, family gathering, or wedding. There is a stone shelter that was built by the CCC in 1934. The shelter may be reserved online. Lake Activities Rice Lake is a 1200 acre lake that provides many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Any size motor is allowed and boaters like to water ski, jet ski, and fish. The species of fish in Rice Lake include bass, bluegill, walleye, perch, northern, crappie and bullheads. Many species of birds habitat Rice Lake. There are a variety of songbirds and migratory birds. Pelicans are known to make Rice Lake a stopping spot along their route. Camping No camping allowed at Rice Lake State Park. Nearby Towns Rice Lake is located at Lake Mills. Other surrounding towns include Forest City, Joice, Leland and Scarville.Key InfoBe sure to check the current length limits and possession limits for any fish caught out of Rice Lake.Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionOn Hwy 9 about five miles east of Forest City or eleven miles west of Interstate 35 take R74 north.
