Brochure InfoSkidaway Island State Park borders Skidaway Narrows, a part of the Intracoastal Waterway and provides scenic camping, picnicking and hiking opportunities. Visitors come to Skidaway to visit downtown Savannah only a short 20 minute drive away or to enjoy the peace and quiet of being in nature.Brochure Info - OrientationThe trails lead you through maritime forest, a mix of live oaks, cabbage palmettos, southern red cedar and pines, over salt marshes and tidal creeks out to views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The campground is nestled in a wooded area mostly shaded with a mix of hardwoods and pines.Brochure Info - RecreationSkidaway offers great access to the water with a boat ramp only 1/4 mile from the park. We have 7 miles of trails for biking and hiking. We also rent bicycles at the park office.Brochure Info - Facilities and RestrictionsThe Park offers a scenic campground nestled under live oaks and Spanish moss, while groups can enjoy privacy in their own pioneer campgrounds. Open-air picnic shelters and an enclosed group shelter are popular spots for parties, reunions and other celebrations.Brochure Info - Nearby AttractionsVisit the Park's Interpretive Nature Center that houses a giant ground sloth exhibit, birding station, reptile room, and other natural and cultural displays. Programs for all ages are offered year round. The Park is 15 miles from downtown historic Savannah and 25 miles from the beaches of Tybee Island.Key InfoFor reservation inquiries please call 1-800-864-7275. For Park inquiries please contact the park at 912-598-2300. This Park, while on an island, is not on the beach, closest beach access is Tybee Island Beach 25 miles from the park. Allow 40 minutes driving time. A ParkPass is required for all vehicles. Price for ParkPasses are not included with the reservation. Overnight guests pay only one ParkPass fee for the duration of their stay. The daily ParkPass is valid at all state parks visited the same day and is not valid at state historic sites. ParkPass fees are as follow: 1-12 passenger vehicles $5 per day or $50 annual ParkPass; 13-30 passenger vehicles $30 per day or $75 annual ParkPass; 31 or more passenger vehicles $70 per day or $250 annual ParkPass; Georgia active duty military/veterans $3.75 per day or $37.50 annual ParkPass. From I-95 South: Take Exit 94 (GA 204) East Towards Savannah, Turn Right onto Truman Parkway, Take Whitefield Avenue Exit, Turn right on Whitefield Avenue, Turn Left onto State Park Road, Park office will be 1/2 mile ahead on right. 2. From I-95 North: Take Exit 99A (I-16 East), Take Exit 164A (I 516/ Lynes Parkway) and continue onto Derenne Avenue, Turn Right onto Truman Parkway, Take Whitefield Avenue Exit, Turn left onto Whitefield Avenue, Turn Left onto State Park Road, Park office will be 1/2 mile ahead on right. 3.
