Moose, black and brown bear, lynx, squirrels, hares and other creatures are plentiful in all of these areas. Enjoy and respect them for this is their home. It is a popular summer recreational destination. Camping, wildlife viewing, scenic views, and fishing at the Kasilof River and at Johnson Lake are some of the reasons why.Key InfoPark Rules Park rules allow all visitors to enjoy our state parks and protect them for future generations. Please pay your camping fee immediately after selecting a site. Camping stays are limited to 15 days. There is a day use parking fee. Fires are permitted only in fire grates provided or on the saltwater beach. Please do not cut live trees or shrubs; collect only dead and down wood. Motor vehicles are restricted to roads, parking areas or saltwater beaches. Pets must be leashed and under control at all times in developed areas. Please do not litter; use the dumpster's provided. Discharge of firearms and fireworks is prohibited in the recreation area. Please respect the rights of those who own private property near the recreation area. Quiet hours are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The Disabled U.S. Veteran Camping Pass is valid for free camping in all state park campgrounds, including premium sites, subject to all other park rules and stay limits. Passes must be properly displayed and the veteran must be physically present in the campsite each night for the pass to be honored. Second vehicles that can fit within the same defined parking space or site are exempted from paying additional camping fees. The pass is NOT valid for any Reservation Transaction Fees charged for reserving campsites.Important Information for Daily EntranceDirectionAt approximately mile post 110 on the Sterling Highway turn onto Johnson Lake Road, then turn onto Tustumena Lake Road, take the first right into the Johnson Lake SRA.Booking Window Product InfoFee Cancellation DescReservation Fees A Reservation Fee of $5 will be added to the campsite fee. Reservation fees are non-refundable, non-transferable. No exceptions. Change/Transfer Policy Reservations may be modified up to 2 calendar days prior to arrival check-in time online through Reserve America and incur a $3 change fee. Reservations may not be modified less than 2 calendar days prior to day of arrival. Customers may extend stays without incurring a modification fee. Important Note: A change in reservation dates where no dates of stay involved in the original reservation are the same as the dates of stay for the resulting reservation, will require a cancellation of the original reservation and the booking of a new reservation with all applicable service fees. Cancellation/No-Show Policy Cancellations received at least 3 calendar days prior to scheduled check-in time will incur a $10 cancellation fee plus original transaction fee. Nightly fees will be refunded. The cancellation must be made online through Reserve America. Cancellations received after scheduled check-in time but before the following day's check-in time will incur a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first nightly fee. Additional nightly fees will be refunded. The cancellation must be made through Reserve America. No-Shows - A reservation turns into "no-show" status at check-in time on the day after the scheduled arrival date unless alternate arrangements have been made with the park. The entire reservation will be cancelled and all fees are forfeited.
