About
The Mi Wok Ranger District Campgrounds encompass multiple camping facilities located along the lower Highway 108 corridor in the Stanislaus National Forest in Tuolumne County, California. The district is part of the 898,000-acre Stanislaus National Forest in the Central Sierra Nevada, featuring 78 lakes, 811 miles of streams and rivers, and more than 1,000 miles of hiking trails. Campgrounds in the Mi Wok Ranger District include Hull Creek, Fraser Flat, Sand Bar Flat, and River Ranch-Hacienda, among others. These campgrounds offer access to diverse recreational opportunities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, OHV riding, and water activities. The area is characterized by mixed conifer forests and provides access to the Stanislaus River and numerous creeks. Most campgrounds in the district operate seasonally, typically from May through October, before winter storm activity begins. The facilities are generally rustic, and large motor homes and trailers cannot be accommodated at some locations. Electric and sewer hookups are not available. The Mi Wok Ranger District office is located on Highway 108, though it is currently closed to the public; visitors should contact the Summit Ranger Station at Pinecrest for assistance.
