About

Cibbets Flat Campground sits in the high-elevation Laguna Mountain Recreation Area of Cleveland National Forest, providing cooler temperatures and dense forest cover compared to San Diego's coastal climate. The campground features 24 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it a solid option for spontaneous camping trips when nearby reservable campgrounds are full. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, with potable water spigots and vault toilets serving the campground. The area offers access to day hiking trails and is popular with campers seeking a rustic experience without driving too far from San Diego. An Adventure Pass is required in addition to the nightly camping fee. The campground accommodates tents, small RVs, and trailers up to 27 feet in length. Sites are shaded by oaks and pines, providing a pleasant mountain atmosphere. A camp host is typically on-site during the main season.
