...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida... Horse Creek Near Arcadia at SR 72 affecting DeSoto County. Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Levy, Citrus and Marion Counties. .Due to recent heavy rainfall water levels remain elevated along the Horse Creek near Arcadia, and is expected to drop below flood stage overnight. The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon has been steadily rising since July, and on September 15 reached flood stage. The cause of the high water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is due to excessive hydrilla growth (from the river bottom to the water surface) along a 4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau. The hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water levels to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. * WHERE...Withlacoochee at US 41 Dunnellon. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 28.2 feet, Docks and boat ramps flood along the river in Citrus and Marion counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM EDT Monday the stage was 28.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM EDT Monday was 28.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady at flood stage. - Flood stage is 28.2 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 28.2 feet on 10/02/1979. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Lake Shore Group Campground occupies a prime location on the north shore of Fore Lake within the Ocala National Forest. The campground caters specifically to groups, making it a popular choice for scout troops, church organizations, civic groups, and large family reunions. The single group site can accommodate up to 50 people and requires a two-night minimum stay at $100 per night. The campground features a large covered picnic pavilion with tables and a group grill, flush toilets, and showers. Limited RV parking is available in the parking area, though no hookups are provided. Pets are permitted on leashes no longer than six feet but are restricted from swimming and picnic areas. Food must be stored in approved bear-resistant containers due to bear and raccoon activity. Fore Lake spans 12 acres and is lined with marshes that attract numerous bird species. The surrounding landscape features saw palmetto and oak trees. Visitors can fish, kayak, canoe, or use electric-motor boats launched from the facility's boat ramp. Swimming is allowed but at your own risk due to alligators in the lake. Fishing is prohibited within 50 yards of the boat ramp and swimming area.
Directions
From I-75 west of Ocala, take exit 352 onto State Route 40 east. Continue for 10 miles to County Road 314. Turn left on 314 and go 6 miles. Turn left onto 147th Avenue Road and look for the Lake Shore sign and entrance on the left.
