Willow Flat Campground
Closed for the season. The campground operates from late May through early September. After the official season ends, the campground remains accessible first-come, first-served with no fee, but toilets and water are unavailable.
About
Willow Flat Campground occupies a scenic location on the banks of the Cub River in southeastern Idaho at an elevation of 6,300 feet. A mixed forest of pines, spruce, and hardwoods provides partial shade, while dense willow stands along the river attract moose, deer, and elk. The campground offers 54 sites including standard single-family sites, tent-only sites, and six group sites with capacities ranging from 24 to 100 people. The Cub River provides excellent fishing for wild cutthroat and hatchery rainbow trout. Multiple trails originate from the campground, including a half-mile nature trail to Sam Parkinson Spring. The Cub River Trail offers multi-use access for hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, OHV riding, and horseback riding, connecting to the Highline Trail, North Fork of St. Charles Creek, and the Cub River Guard Station. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from faucets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Group site G03 features an amphitheater with bleacher seating. Access roads and parking spurs are gravel, and some sites are reached via footbridges over the river.
