About

Piney Point Park is situated on the shore of 30,000-acre Wright Patman Lake within the piney woods of northeast Texas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This lakeside campground provides 45 sites with water and 30-amp electric hookups, plus tent-only sites, all equipped with picnic tables, grills, utility tables, and trash cans. The facility includes flush restrooms with showers, a dump station, and a group picnic shelter available for day use. The park features a boat ramp for lake access, a volleyball court, and a 1.3-mile hiking trail that connects to Rocky Point Campground and its swimming beach. Wright Patman Lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish, as well as boating and wildlife viewing. The surrounding 55,000 acres of public forestland provide habitat for wild turkey, bobwhite quail, squirrel, white-tailed deer, waterfowl, and migrating bald eagles and pelicans. Located in the Texarkana region, the campground offers convenient access to area attractions including shopping, restaurants, and historical sites. Shreveport, Louisiana is nearby for additional entertainment options. The park has gatehouse hours Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with access codes provided to campers for entry outside these hours.

Directions

From Texarkana, take Highway 59 south to Wright Patman Lake. Just south of Sulphur River Dam, turn right into the park area, following signs. Proceed one mile to the park. Piney Point is just north of Rocky Point Park. Physical address: 710 Piney Point Park Road, Queen City, TX 75572.
