About

Stumpy Meadows Campground occupies a heavily forested setting on Stumpy Meadows Reservoir in the Georgetown Ranger District of Eldorado National Forest. The 40 campsites are well-spaced among towering Ponderosa pine, fir, oak, and cedar trees, providing ample shade and privacy. The reservoir offers excellent fishing for Rainbow and German Brown Trout, along with swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. The campground includes vault toilets, potable water from spigots, fire rings, grills, and picnic tables at sites. A dump station is located across from the campground entrance, and a boat ramp sits about one mile away. Motorboats are restricted to a 5 mph speed limit. Bears are active in the area, so all food, toiletries, and garbage must be stored in the provided bear boxes. The historic Gold Rush town of Georgetown is 15 miles away and offers supplies and services. Nearby attractions include the El Dorado County Scenic Highway and Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park.
