Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area is the Wayne National Forest's premier developed recreation site. It offers swimming, fishing, and 25 miles of hiking and 45 miles of horseback riding trails, as well as two developed family campgrounds, a group camp and group picnic shelters. The rugged hills, rock outcroppings, and historic Vesuvius iron furnace provide a scenic backdrop for this beautiful recreation area.
