About

Cypress Creek Landing occupies a scenic bluff overlooking Black Creek in Perry County's De Soto National Forest. Situated 7 miles downstream from Janice Landing, this primitive campground marks the endpoint of both the Black Creek float trip and hiking trail, offering paddlers and hikers a convenient takeout and camping destination along Mississippi's only national wild and scenic river. The campground provides basic amenities including flush toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. A boat launch provides access to the clear, tea-colored waters of Black Creek for non-motorized boating. The area also offers opportunities for picnicking, wildlife viewing, and scenic overlooks of the river corridor below. Sites are available on a first-come-first-served basis at $7 per night. Payment can be made on-site via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, though cellular service may be limited. No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
