About
Sunny Point Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is located west of LaGrange on the scenic shoreline of West Point Lake. This day-use recreation area provides excellent access to the 25,900-acre lake, which extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line. The park's primary feature is the Sunny Point Group Shelter, a reservable facility equipped with five tables, a grill, and restroom access, ideal for group gatherings and events. The shelter is positioned near the water with convenient access for bank fishing and easy proximity to the boat ramp. Year-round boat launching facilities make this an attractive destination for anglers and boaters throughout all seasons. Additional amenities include numerous picnic sites scattered throughout the park and first-come-first-served parking. The location is unstaffed, providing a relaxed atmosphere for visitors seeking a peaceful lakeside experience. Pets are welcome on leashes up to six feet in length, and the park's natural setting along West Point Lake's extensive shoreline offers scenic views and opportunities for wildlife observation.
Directions
From LaGrange, turn onto N Greenwood St heading north and drive approximately 4.5 miles. Watch for park signs and turn left onto Concord Drive into the park.
