Summary

Timber Creek Campground offers a primitive camping experience with beautiful sunsets and wildlife in a 33,000 acre protected area. Visitors can enjoy activities such as boating, swimming, fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing at Milford Lake, the largest man-made lake in Kansas. Facilities include water, vault restrooms, and campsites nearby the lake. Hiking trails, wildlife viewing tower and trails, and the Milford Education Center and Fish Hatchery are also nearby attractions.

Timber Creek provides visitors with primitive camping opportunities with beautiful sunsets and the comforts of a nearby small town. An expanse of 33,000 acres surrounding the lake is public, protected land that's home to an array of wildlife. It's also an ideal setting for outdoor recreation like hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing and driving off-road vehicles at the ORV area.

Recreation

Activities include boating, swimming, fishing, hunting, hiking, wildlife viewing and biking. Nearly 70% of the land resources are available for public hunting and the park is a great place to catch blue cats from the shoreline.

Facilities

Timber Creek is a primitive campground. The campsites are all within walking and viewing distance of the lake. Water is available for public use. Vault restrooms are located within the campground.

Natural Features

Milford Lake is fed by the Republican River and stands as the largest man-made lake in Kansas, with a surface area of 15,700 acres and 163 miles of shoreline.

Nearby Attractions

The State Park offers Hiking trails which include the Waterfall Trail and the Crystal Trail. The wildlife Viewing Tower and Trail is a hot spot for excellent wildlife viewing. 

The Milford Education Center and Fish Hatchery are located below the dam.
